African based Interior Design firm run by Yvonne O’Brien, The Private House Company, is known for creating rooms that are understated, personal and quietly refined. Yvonne feels that a good room is richly layered while maintaining a simple restraint. She is inspired by the subtleties of nature and natural light and her interiors are always sophisticated and timeless.
Yvonne began her journey into interior design as a young graduate in London. On her return to South Africa, she began to fill her garage with products from her travels that excited and inspired her.
With her impeccable and timeless taste, these products soon became appealing to more and more people, and so began The Private House Company.
20 years later, The Private House Company has become a well-known design brand in the industry. Yvonne and her small design team of phenomenal women continue to source and sell inspirational décor items, as well as offer a full turn-key design service focusing on a range of residential projects, lodges and boutique hotels.
